Engaged directly by the City of Casey, Native Space transformed Max Pawsey Reserve through the complete reconstruction of its playground and car park.

The project involved removing the existing car park, playground and redundant underground infrastructure before delivering a new 74-space car park, upgraded stormwater systems and an inclusive contemporary play space. The revitalised reserve now features modern play equipment, an interactive water-play area, a basketball half-court, BBQ facilities and sheltered seating—creating a safer, more accessible and engaging destination for families and the wider community.

Delivery required careful management of unknown underground services, challenging ground and drainage conditions, and continued public access. Native Space also worked to minimise disruption to the neighbouring football club and Scout Hall while meeting stringent safety, environmental and accessibility requirements. The result is a functional, welcoming recreational space that improves access to the reserve and supports greater community use.
